Samsung Galaxy Tab
Samsung Galaxy Tab received a few days ago a price cut and it is now sold at £599 ($935) (available for pre-orders). This represents a small difference from the previous price of £680 ($1061) that has been online on the retail companies for several weeks.
But this prices don't mean anything because Samsung did not officially reveal any price for their tablet. There were two events in which the Galaxy Tab has been presented to the public, IFA 2010 for Europe and NYC event for US, but in none of them the selling price has been made public. This brings the question: "Why are there already selling prices on the internet?". The answer is simple. This is a great opportunity for marketing and retail companies didn't wait too long until they showed up the prices on their website. At that moment all the publications on the internet referred to those specific websites so the amount of exposure was spectacular.
I suggest not to take into account the prices that other companies are showing because none of them might be true. And with the recent announcement of the Wi-Fi version coming up at the later this year or at the beginning of next year, the price difference between the 3G version and the Wi-Fi one could be also an advantage for the potential buyers and fans. Also the carriers subsided prices have to be taken into account before deciding to purchase the device and to see if it's worth over other similar products. We are still waiting for the actual release of the tablet for the customers to buy along with the proper price.
